For a while it has been clear that job prospects are bright for graduates in computer science. For example the US News and World Report list of top jobs has 5 jobs in its top 10 that relate directly to CS majors: software developer, database administrator, web developer, computer systems analyst, computer programmer.
Unlike, say, English literature, which leads to few careers directly and hence to many indirectly, computer science seems to give graduates opportunities to directly use the skills they learned during their study, and so we should expect less diversity in occupations among CS graduates. However, there are some multi-talented people out there with CS degrees. For example, one of our department's MSc graduates is a professional musician and music teacher in Auckland. Here are a few other interesting examples: Mark Paston, professional soccer goalkeeper, played in 2010 World Cup (BSc from VUW); Asma al-Assad, first lady of Syria (BSc from Kings College London); Masi Oka, actor on TV series Heroes (BS in CS and mathematics, Brown University).
Does anyone know any more such examples?
